Come along and enjoy a friendly and fun filled evening of Music and Dance. Don't worry if it's all new to you, the caller and the other dancers will help get your feet moving in the right direction.
“Our Northern Branch” comprises three fiddles and a cello, recreating an authentic village string band sound to play a repertoire of mostly eighteenth and nineteenth century dance tunes. Click on this link for a video of Our Northern Branch (up close and personal) playing for some expert ranting by the Waring Green regulars.
Caller for the evening is Stoke-based Sarah Clough. On her website, Sarah says: “I have a range of dances in my repertoire – the more usual English, Scottish, Irish and American choices plus some more obscure dances to keep things interesting for the more experienced ceilidh-goer.”
This is Sarah’s first Ryburn 3 Step Barn Dance and if the recommendations of dancers and musicians alike are anything to go by, we are in for a great night’s dancing.
